And The Child Grew…

Sixth Day in the Octave Of Christmas

And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favour of God was upon him.
(Luke 2:40)

In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus set for us an example to follow. We are all God’s children. And it is necessary that we grew in His grace, it is important we become strong in faith, be filled in His wisdom and gain His undying favour. How do we do this? It’s written in the first reading of today:

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
(1 John 2:15-17)

Let’s do the will of God our Father and thus grow up spiritually to be His worthy children.
